The Translation Division

The Translation Division translates laws and government rules, ordinances, notifications, orders, directives, and procedures from Myanmar to English, reviews requests for legal terminology usage, coordinates with relevant organizations and experts on legal terminology and vocabulary, and obtains reference information and documentation as needed. It also reviews requests for legal terminology usage in international conventions or contracts translated from Myanmar to English or vice versa.

The General Legal Advisory Division

The General Legal Advisory Division, before trial provides legal advice  to the President, Union Hluttaw, Regional Hluttaw or State Hluttaw, Union or State or Federal Unit-level organizations, and Union Ministries, as well as to different levels of law offices. It also vets and advises on draft contracts and agreements with international organizations, foreign countries, non-government organizations, individuals, organizations, and companies to ensure consistency with laws, regulations, international conventions, agreements, procedures, and policies. The division also vets and advises on the compliance of activities and provisional organizations with the law. It coordinates with relevant government organizations and departments and obtains documentation and information on orders, determinations, directives, records of activities, and case files as needed.

The Federal Democracy Charter and Interim Constitutional Division

The Federal Democracy Charter and Interim Constitutional Division of the Ministry of Justice provides legal advice on the Federal Democracy Charter and Constitution as requested by the President, Union Hluttaw, Regional Hluttaw or State Hluttaw, Union or State or Federal Unit-level organizations, and Union Ministries. It reports anomalous legal situations at Union, Regional, or State Hluttaw meetings as directed by the Union Minister and provides legal advice to resolve disputes related to the Federal Democracy Charter and Constitutional matters between Union, State, and Federal Unit level organizations. The division coordinates with relevant government organizations and departments and obtains orders, determinations, directives, records of activities, case files, and other documentation and information as needed in providing legal advice.
