Today, the Ministry of Justice would like to appreciate and welcome the 75th Anniversary of Kaw Thoo Lei Day.
Saw Ba U Gyi, the first President of the Karen National Union, established the Kawthoolei Governance Body (KGB) on 14 June 1949 and announced it to the world. This day has been recognized as the Kaw Thoo Lei Day for seeking equality, right to self-determination, human rights, and democracy for the Karen People in a Federal Union of Myanmar.
As the Ministry of Justice, we commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Kaw Thoo Lei Day, promising and ensuring to stand united with all ethnic people for the emergence of a federal democratic union that can bring equality, self-determination, and justice for all ethnic people, including the Karen People, in Myanmar, during the Spring Revolution.
