Today, June 26, is marked as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
During the Spring Revolution, fighting collectively for democracy and justice in Myanmar, we must handle the danger and threat of drug abuse and trafficking that will impact the health of the people of Myanmar.
The Ministry of Justice is, to reduce and prevent drug use, implementing actions and activities that will provide awareness related to negative impacts on the people’s education, health, economy and safety, and the rule of law in Myanmar due to the negative effects of drugs.
As the Ministry of Justice, we are committed to implementing powerful process measures and policies for the social welfare system, prioritizing the prevention of drug use that has impacted socioeconomic development and providing treatment and care for drug users.
On the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Ministry of Justice reiterates that we will conduct law enforcement action against drugs as a national duty and will cooperate with international organizations.
