Meeting No. 5/2023: Meeting between the Interim Judicial Affairs Department and township judges was held on the 28th of October 2023 at 10:00am (Myanmar time). The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Interim Judicial Affairs Department, relevant directors, staff members, as well as judges from 27 townships.
The Director General of the Interim Judicial Affairs Department stated in his open remarks that “our department and the township judges have been meeting and discussing in detail five times now; we have plans in place to train the judges on the ground; the trainers for these aforementioned training courses are being trained together with relevant partner organizations; we would like everyone to work as best as they can during this interim period and to report special cases in a timely manner.”
Following that, questions and challenges faced by judges on the ground were addressed by relevant individuals, and the meeting resolutions and future plans were outlined. The meeting was concluded at 12:00pm (Myanmar time).
