The Interim Judicial Implementation Committee meeting No. (8/2023) was held on the 18th of August 2023 at 1:00 pm (Myanmar time).
The meeting was attended by Mahn Win Khaing Than, the Chairman of the Committee and Union Prime Minister, as well as U Thein Oo, the Vice Chairman and Union Minister of the Ministry of Justice, alongside other committee members.
The Union Prime Minister U Mann Win Khaing Than stated in his open remarks that the responsibilities and accountabilities of the Ministry of Justice are vast since the judicial sector is one of the main piliers of the nation; it is important for us as the government to collaborate with other ministries in addition to the Ministry of Justice to enhance the rule of law and the judicial sector; and every sector needs to be working on the things that need to be done efficiently as the revolution is progressing rapidly.
Following that, attendees discussed judicial work situations they had encountered during the two and a half years of revolution, and the Union Minister of the Ministry of Justice stated that we should put in more effort as the PDF and other resistance forces’ success grows.
Afterwards, the Union Prime Minister U Mann Win Khaing Than stated in his closing statement that strengthening the judicial sector is a matter that the international community has great interest in, and therefore everyone should put effort in asking for assistance from the international community, and the meeting was successfully concluded at 3:10 pm (Myanmar time).
